Pizzagaina, Pizza Rustica or Pizza Gain is an Italian Easter pie that was traditionally made on Holy Thursday and not eaten until Easter Sunday as a celebratory meat pie to break the 40 day Lenten Fast. Chef Cara is sharing her family’s special recipe so that we can all partake in this Italian tradition. You will chop, grate, mix and stir and everyone will take home an individual pie to carefully bake at home. You might not wait until Sunday to eat it!!
